It was built at the end of the 15th century, this bridge over the River Avon played an important role as the road to London during medieval times.

The Guild Hall is kept as it was in Shakespeare's times. The Chapel built by the Guild of the Holy Cross, which was established in the 13th century, whose aim was to provide for the religious and commercial needs of the clergy and merchants of the town. King Edward VI Grammar School was built in 1428 as the home of a religious guild which still functions as an educational institution even today.
