DO NOT RIDE WITH THIS COMPANY- YOU WILL BE SQUANDERING YOUR MONEY!!! i was given a voucher from my parents as a 30th birthday present to fly in a hot air balloon. Very excited, i booked to ride, only to be told on the day that the flight wasn’t happening due to suboptimal weather conditions. i tried another two times, and the same thing happened again. Come 2010 the sun started shining and i thought that i would try my luck again, only to be told that my voucher had expired and that, unless i paid another ridiculous sum of money, i would not be able to ride in the balloon using that voucher. At no point in previous communication had it been mentioned to me that if i don’t fly within 12 months of claiming my voucher, that i would lose the chance (what chance…helllo…this is british weather!) to fly again. Talking to the Director, apparently, if i had booked to fly eight times and had failed to fly on each occasion, that would have meant that i REALLY REALLY REALLY wanted to go up in a hot air balloon, and then i would have got a refund. BUT i only booked three times, which meant that i didn’t REALL REALLY REALLY want to go, and so they would keep the money. Fair, eh! Oh yes, it was all in the Terms and Conditions- you guessed it- that link in tiny lettering somewhere elusive on their website. It would be interesting to know the actual number of flights these people make and whether they actually get off their their lazy ar**s and give people what they paid for or, as is evident, they lie back and rake in the money from unsuspecting customers.
Balloon flights are exactly what you expect. It means more when you fly over your home-town or an area you know very well. One of the many things you MUST do in your lifetime.
